A second problem may be that you have collected a lot of extra items on your registry and elsewhere that result from web browsing. Companies put items on the computer to monitor your usage and so on for marketing purposes. There are lots of free programs to scan and remove these items available. Removing these can alleviate some quirky computer behavior.
