What advantages helped the Americans win the Revolutionary War? |
[Edit] |
Answer
They fought for a cause they believed in, with a strong desire to be free. They got help from European nations. They knew the land better and did not have to travel 3000 miles back and forth for the supplies that they needed.
ANSWER
Another advantage was the difference in fighting strategies that the Americans used. England was still stuck in the old tradition of large armies moving in straight lines forward towards the enemy, which in Europe was usually another large army in straight lines, but in America was a small mobile army hiding behind stone walls and in gullies firing into England's straight lines. American troops would hit and run, ambush and retreat, and generally wreak havoc on a large slow moving British Army.
