1. lower obesity weight among children

2. better ability to concentrate among students due to more vitamins in food

3. schools offer free or reduced lunched to lower income levels...it is recognized that children who are in low income homes do not get the required nutrients as a whole

4. serving healthy foods at school promotes healthy eating outside of school

Arguments against:

1. In schools where lunches are serves a la carte, students will not purchase as much if only offered healthy options

2. some schools get funding from companies that provide "junk" food
