Walt Disney World can be a very romantic vacation destination ––just ask the thousands of couples who are married there every year! First, be honest with yourself. I can suggest quieter locations, but you’re never going to escape children entire at Disney. If the thought of encountering even one toddler melt-down ruins your vacation, go to Paris instead.

The best hotels for couples are the Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Boardwalk Inn, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian Resort and the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. All of these have quiet rooms and/or wings off the beaten path. The Alligator Bayou section of the Port Orleans Riverside does as well. You’ll avoid families and conventioneers, partly because most of these are slightly more expensive.

Romantic Restaurants with at least decent food include the Coral Reef, the terrace on the Rose & Crown, the San Angel Inn, Portobello Yacht Club, and Fulton’s Crab House in Pleasure Island. At the Grand Floridian, don’t miss the Narcoossee or Victoria & Albert’s. The California Grill at the Contemporary resort has outstanding tables by the window. If none is available, ask to be seated in the lounge to enjoy the spectacular view.
