Travel Games for Children

Play the alphabet game. This classic travel game involves searching for letters of the alphabet (in order) spotted on business signs, road signs, billboards, etc. The whole family can play this game together as each individual contributes as he or she finds a letter.

Play the car color game. Before you set off on your trip, have each child choose a different car color. Hand each child a piece of paper and pencil so they record a point for each time he or she spots a car with their chosen color. You could also use small pieces of candy to tally points.

Play the opposite game. This is a fun and educational game the whole family will enjoy. One person will say a word, such as "short" while others contribute their opposite answers (long, tall). This game can go on for hours as word choices are limitless.
