shouldnt have to be replaced until it starts making a tapping noise. the timing chain is very robust, but can be prone to slackening, making it tap, and possible risks are of the chain itself slipping
about 50,000 miles if its the first 1 its had tapping should be evident get it done professionally a slight mistake with the timing and u will have a scrap car
