What do you use a service animal for?

[Edit]

Service animals are individually trained to perform tasks to mitigate the disability of their owner. Some service dogs guide the blind or signal the deaf of sounds in their environment such as a knock at the door, a baby crying, or an alarm. Others are trained to retrieve dropped items, open and close doors, turn on lights, push buttons or otherwise assist a disabled person.
