Effects of Genetically Engineered Crops on Wildlife:
- I totally agree with the other poster. Just look around at the size of young males and females today. In the 50s and even 60s there were few over-weight people unlike today. There was less psychological problems, and I do blame this on genetically grown chickens (bird virus now) and beef in particular, but to be fair the rapid pace of society and other factors has something to do with depression and the high rate of suicides in especially young teens. Heaven only knows what they are doing to crops. We know little of the truth of how they really grow crops, and now scientists are pushing for cloning of veggies, animals, etc. You can read about it if you want to do the research on it, but if you notice little is said in the news about it. The planet is simply running out of food so scientists are coming up with ways to feed the over-flowing population. For every good thing there is a down-side. None of us know (including the scientists) what the long term side effects of genetically grown crops, etc., or cloning methods will do to future generations.
- Although I'm not a scientist of any sort, I am a man of reason, and observation. I notice that children are physically maturing much faster than they did when I was a child. For instance, females ages as early as ten, are developing full grown breasts, and have entered their menstrual cycle full force. In my opinion, this is directly due to genetically modified food animals. Farmers feed their livestock food that has been pumped full of hormones that will increase their growth rate dramatically. This interm, affects those of us that eat such rubbish. The adverse affects of these modified products, are most easily seen in chickens and turkeys. They are pumped full of genetically modified grain and they grow so fast that their legs, can no longer support their massive bodies, so they don't move, or can't move much. Quite often, in these sick and twisted farms they die of starvation, or dehydration, because their weak legs can't support them, and they can't walk to the feed troth, or water bowl. Although speaking out against mainstream thoughts that are pumped into the hollow brains of society makes you a crazy person, my hypothesis is that the epidemic of "Chronic Wasting Disease", often found in deer, is due to eating crops planted by men that are not comfortable accepting the fact that we are not in control, and horrible things happen when man tries to play god. In my very humble opinion, genetically modified crops, harm not just wild animals, but the domestic ones that we eat, which in turn harms us, just so someone can get their almighty dollar a few days sooner. The fact of the matter is a lot simpler than most realize. Genetically engineered crops are not what you think and it is a proven fact that plant DNA and animal DNA are not compatible. Most, but not all, engineered plants are actually plant crosses that intensify a certain characteristic such as drought resistance or resistance to certain insects. they are actually hybrids. If you would look at the diet of most young people, you will find they eat a lot of fast foods as we call them, and drink a ton of soda pops, eat a bag of chips and have not a clue as to what is healthy. You will also notice that most of these obese kids come from schools that do not have required PE.
