as a person who does not have ADHD, it was the worst single drug experience that i have ever had. it caused me alternate between psychosis and delirium for about 8 hours, and the entire time i really wasnt aware of what i was doing. i almost got in a ohysical fight with one of my best friends, made death threats to complete strangers, and every once in a while could not help but smile and think of my own demise. it also gave me the worst migraine and nausea that i have ever experienced. i was unable to eat or sleep for about 8 hours after the effect of the drug wore off.

As a person WITH ADHD it was simple ~ you get high. Whenever you snort anything you get higher then if you take it orally. You may have to double your dose though. Also, my friend is NOT ADD and she snorts it and sometimes we snort Oxy IR. She drinks all night and it just gives her an extra boost. I DO IT because I DON't drink and would fall asleep if I didn't have a little something to keep me going. We use Adderall XR's or regular Adderall 30 mg (the best) and then Oxy IR 5mg. It's called the "poor man's cocaine" aroung here.

Why would you WANT to sniff or "snort" it?? Stimulants used for various conditions such as ADD, sleep disorders etc.. are often dispensed in ER or TR form, meaning they are meant to absorb in your system over time; (extended release, time release etc...) Abusing it and taking in a way such as sublingual (under the tounge) or intranasally (snorting) releases the FULL dose of the medication all at once. Basically it's overdosing. If you do more than what is prescribed (like 3-4 pills) all at once, you could experience heart palpatations, sweating, nervousness, halucinations or even a heart attack. It is a dangerous way to try and get "high". Take the medication only if it is PRESCRIBED FOR YOU, and follow the directions. You could snort it and get high multiple times with no problems. Then one time you do it, it could cause serious side effects, including death. It really IS NOT worth it, if you stop and think about it... STAY HEALTHY......... <<>>

I have been trying to get my doctor to switch my Concerta prescription for too long now. I snorted it once or twice to see if anything might happen. Nothing. I have been taking it for too long and the effects of the drug are almost nil now.

Snorting concerta can be very bad for the lungs. Being a time-released pill, the "good stuff" is incapsulated in all kinds of slow disolving plastic layers. Yeah you can peel the plastic off but that's no guarantee you got it all. Besides, the core of the pill itself consists of an absorbant expanding substance to slowly push the medicine out of a pin sized hole and there's some other white junk at the top that and when ground down turns into tiny shards. If you isolate the yellow ritalin you still may not get all the other junk totally off and if snorted with a clear sinus those shards go straight to your bronchial. I know because I became addicted to snorting it myself even though this form of the drug was meant to stop such abuse. An addict will always find a way! The new answer is Vyvance, an extended release form of Adderral, check it out. You CAN open the capsules and there is an inviting looking fine powder. HOWEVER, the drug is only released when broken down by the stomach and liver so if snorted it is simply inert. Hope this suggestion helps anybody that cannot stop taking their medication in-properly it helped me!
