What is a blue moon?

In: Moons
[Edit]

Answer

A "blue moon" is the second full moon to occur in a calendar month. It happens rarely, hence the phrase, "Once in a blue moon."

Aurelia and Blue Moon are hypothetical examples of a planet and a moon on which extraterrestrial life could evolve.

It might refer to the fictional satellite, called Blue Moon, of a hypothetical planet (Aurelia) where it was theorized that life had begun. It was an exercise underwritten by National Geographic.
