What is a gentile? |

A gentile in general terms usually means anyone who is not a Jew.In the Old Testament it referred to nations apart from Israel.In the New Testament it could mean nation-including the Jewish nation,or a non-Jewish nation- depending if the Greek word was used in the singular or plural.It is related to our word 'ethnic'.
