Business casual for men used to wearing a suit and tie to work might be a jacket or blazer and slacks, with or without a tie. Keep colors conservative: dark blues and grays or blacks are appropriate. Keep the Don Johnson pastel jacket with the rolled-up sleeves in the closet
For women it's bit harder, but perhaps a dark knee-length skirt and blouse with jacket would fit the bill.
