What is it like to have Satyriasis?

For starters, there is no ego involved, despite what you may have heard. The best way I can describe it is dealing with a addiction, like crack: you can get enough to satisfy yourself, but to meet the satisfaction the next time usually requires more. Going without is like going through withdrawal. The headaches are often the worst of it, I find. If sexually teased, that just advances the condition into shaking, even worse headaches, and a near-uncontrollable urge to have sex with almost anyone, just to feed the addiction.

I've found that the real difference between a horny guy and a guy with satyriasis is the need for sex over sleep and food. And it's not for not just a short period of time, but weeks to months where sex is more important that basic survival needs. My worst time was a period of 16 days where I was having sex over sleep. On the 17th day I was falling asleep while driving and decided to call it quits (harder than it sounds).

For me this condition is not something to brag about: it's more a annoyance than anything. Like, after four to five hours of sex, there's a need to go masturbate for an hour or two afterwards. It does not often help any relationship: there is always the doubt she isn't satisfying my needs or that I could be cheating on her. This condition, after a while, feels like an addiction to a basic need. It really has no cure beyond the act of sex; even masturbation doesn't stop it: it gives maybe a mild relief at times. I find strong headache medication and avoiding situations were I know my triggers (i.e. smell, conversations and all physical contact) are to be avoided to lessen it, or to avoid it altogether. This is not something to be joked about or taken lightly. If you have the condition, a rash decision can be life-changing while suffering from the symptoms.
