Answers
- again the lust of the eyes the lust of the flesh the pride of life
- The initial sin was that of Adam and Eve partaking of the forbidden fruit. However in commanding them not to partake, God also said that the choice would be Adam and Eve's, thereby tuning their action from a sin to a transgression of a law.
- The doctrine of original sin is the Christian belief that all humans inherit from Adam and Eve a sinful nature, caused by the sin of disobeying God's command not to eat of the forbidden fruit. Some denominations hold that the souls of Christians can not go to heaven if they die before being baptised, symbolic of washing away the old sinful nature. Others believe the power of original sin is overcome through belief in and following after Jesus Christ, along with the repentance of sins, for those of an age to do so on their own volition.
