[Edit] |
Starting a Cleaning Business
Tell a few friends or family members what that you are trying to start your own cleaning service. Explain to them that you need to establish a base for your business to get off the ground. Tell them you would be willing to work for them as either a one time service or weekly commitment at a reduced fee in exchange for a reference. After you have a few of them to use as a refrence, post an ad in the local paper advertising your service with some type of gimmick to get the reader's attention. Such as "For a Limited Time.........Buy 2, get 1 Free". And then offer them the 3rd hour free or the 3rd visit free. Don't forget to ad that references are available upon request.
Most people change cleaning services b/c they are not happy with the service they are getting. Explain how you stand above the rest. You should definitely be very professional with your approach. Have them sign a service agreement and leave a checklist behind (get one at http://www.businessformsstore.com/residential_cleaning). Then start advertising in the papers and all over the internet. Put a few ads on craigslist (www.craigslist.org). Starting this business is not expensive at all. You will use your client's vacuum and at times supplies. The most important expense is in your advertising. This is where you will succeed or fail with your business.
