What is the shelf life of amoxicillin? |
[Edit] |
Answer
as an ex pharmacy tech...amoxicillin is one of the fast movers in the pharmacy it's quite difficult to check it's shelf life but we normally try to keep anti bi for up to one year , 2 years for the most but if it's mixed 10 days ..and it should be on the shelf
OLD ANTIBIOTICS
THROW OUT your amoxicillin! For two reasons: ALL antibiotics should be taken until the bottle is empty. If there are some left over, whoever took it 4 years
ago, didn't finish it, which can mess up your immune system. PLUS, if you take it now even if it were good, you won't get the full dose. AND it's NOT good!
P.S. To dispose of old pills, DO NOT FLUSH THEM or just throw them out: check with your municipality about local medication disposal so you can keep the chemicals out of the general water supply and/or food chain. Many recycling centers have dedicated collection days.<>
Shelf life is generally one year.</adr>
