Answer First your ithaca 20 gauge model 37 was made in 1969 and for the guy with the 371377097 your gun was made in 1974 I have model 37 serial 371473XXX and it was made in 1975.
I have a Ithaca featherlight serial no 371377097 and it was built in the mid 60s. I found it on the Ithaca web site a few years ago, when there still was a web site. But have never found anywhere else to find out. I can't remember what part of the number said what 3 or 4 year range it was built, but I do remember that the numbers were in order from lower to higher in regards to older to newer.
