What kind of soap is detergent and makes it different from regular soap?

[Edit]

Answer

Detergent is a substance based on petroleum products. Soap is a waxy solid made from sodium hydroxide mixed with fats. The principal difference between soaps and detergents are in their composition. Soaps, on the whole, are made of materials found in nature, and detergents are labeled synthetic (although some of their ingredients are natural).
