There are no statistics as to the percentage of on-line dating being deceptive in any way, shape or form, but it's risky and you simply don't know the person at the other end. They could be lying a blue streak and could also send someone else's picture for reasons of their own (perhaps they don't feel they are pretty or handsome enough.) The Internet is a wonderful thing, but it also can cause many problems and this is one of them. Especially women have to be extremely careful when having an on-line relationship with anyone. The police in British Columbia are tearing their hair out because they keep warning young women to be careful getting caught up with strangers on the Internet. Young women go missing or worse.
