What is WikiAnswers?
WikiAnswersTM is a wiki-based Q&A website that is fueled by contributors from all walks of life. Anyone can ask, answer or edit questions, thus building one giant database of questions and answers covering any topic.
In other words, it is the user-driven component of Answers.com, where members contribute what they know and ask about what they don't.

What are your goals as a wiki Q&A site?
Our mission is to grow a collaborative answers resource. In WikiAnswers, anyone, anywhere, is encouraged to ask a question on any topic and get a cooperatively written human-generated answer. We believe that two heads truly are better than one, and together we can provide fuller, richer answers.
Everyone has knowledge to share, whether it's about health insurance, digital cameras or the meaning of life. Everyone should have the opportunity to contribute their expertise with the world, and on WikiAnswers that opportunity is free and available for the curious to explore.
How is WikiAnswers unique?
The wiki-model is all about creating a collaborative directory of questions and answers. We encourage everyone to add to and improve each other's answers instead of asking and answering the same questions over and over again.
Who contributes to WikiAnswers?
Anybody! You can contribute any knowledge you have to help answer other people's questions. Are you a mechanic who likes music and studying European history? Are you a pet owner looking to start your own business?

How does WikiAnswers prevent spam and inappropriate content?
Contributors are encouraged to keep an eye out for vandals and spammers. WikiAnswers has a team of Supervisors who are contributors especially dedicated to helping WikiAnswers Q&A grow in a collective and productive way. How do I get started?
That all depends on what you'd like to do first! It's easy to browse answered or unanswered questions in any category or peruse only the categories you're interested in. If you'd like, check out the Help Center, packed with all the information you need to know about participation on WikiAnswers.
Here are some ways to start:
- Sign up and be recognized for your expertise.
- Ask a question on anything you're curious about.
- Answer a question with your relevant, accurate knowledge of the topic.
- Improve others' answers if you have relevant, accurate information to add.
- Tell a friend about WikiAnswers and spread the love (and knowledge).

WikiAnswers, previously known as FAQ Farm, was acquired by Answers Corporation in November 2006 and is now part of the Answers.com family. It was founded in 2002 by Chris Whitten, a pioneer in the Q&A arena.
